The Latest!

Well I haven't written in a long time because I have been finishing my last semester at college. I am a college graduate as of a week ago, and I got to say that I am not used to having so much time on my hands. I am trying to find a job obviously but I have been a more looking for temporary job till I can find my first career job. I moved back in with my folks which started when they drove me back to Portland last sunday. Since then I have just been chillin but this is what I have been hearing in this world of ours.

There is this new song called "Call me maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen. I just love this song! Last week I heard my roommate play it but I never really payed attention to it till I saw my sister and she showed me her music video and the other video that Justin Bieber made. This song is so catchy and I love it because it's cute and catchy and it's not about sex! It's so nice when a good pop song is clean like that.

I was watching some videos today of interviews with Carly and she says that she got her start on Canadian Idol. She got third place and went on to release a album with her canadian label Maple music called Tug of War. Carly got a great career boost when Justin Bieber heard her song when he was home in Canada. He helped her get signed to Schoolboy Records which is a new label created by Bieber's agent.  Since then "Call me maybe" is hitting the top of charts around the world. He new album is called "Curiosity".

I gotta say that I am not a huge Bieber fan but it's cool that he kind of payed it forward and took Carly's music to a worldwide audience like Usher did for him.

I hope that she has a lot of success in her career I think she is totally awesome!

Newt Gingrich Allegations

I can't believe that Newt Gingrich is denying these allegations. It seems to me that they seem very accurate. I don't know either of them personally but why would she lie about that? I also can't believe that he divorced his two ex wives after they were diagnosed with those horrible diseases. What cruel prick does that? I also can't believe how hypocritical he is. He was cheating on his wife when he was trying to impeach president Clinton for doing the same thing. What a hypocrite! He also had ethical charges brought against him that seems kind of shady too. How can he say that family is so important when he cheating on his ex-wife with his new wife. I know a lot of former presidents have done this, but isn't it about time that we get a president that does cheat on his wife! I think it is. I am glad that President Obama hasn't cheated on his wife!

Also it's about time that Rick Perry dropped out of the race. It was becoming so easy for SNL to make fun of him.

Dressing in booty shorts doesn't mean you are an adult!

I have been noticing a sad trend in young actress in hollywood in the last few years. They seem to think that when they are 18 they are adults and that means you have to be hyper sexual. I am not sure why they think that dressing in booty shorts and dancing by a poll (Miley Cyrus) makes them more of an adult.

I mean she used to look that this.

I am not sure why she thinks that because she is now an adult she can make performances like that. I mean look at those young girls that are watching her. I doubt all of them want to be like her, but girls her age are very impressionable and they want to be like their favorite celebrity.

I think that we need to teach our young girls that it is more important for people to look up to you because of your intelligence and you character instead of how you look in booty shorts.

Stars like Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian are showing our young girls that it is more important to look good and be wanted by men then to be smart and actually want to contribute something of worth to the world.

I am not even sure why Kim Kardashian is famous in the first place. She only got her own reality show because a sex tape of hers got released or something that is so ridiculous. We should have more strong Woman in Hollywood and in reality shows, so woman in the world know that it is important to be healthy but it is also important to be wanted by the world for what you can contribute because looks can only take you so far.

the economy and graduation.

Being in my second to last semester in college i am thinking a lot about next semester and also the mystery of what happens after I graduate. Will I get a job? Will I get a internship? In my media planning class we went to the library and found this place called bestplaces.net, which tells you about different states and different cities within those states. It tells you about the economy, weather, community and many other things. They even have a quiz you can take and it will tell you the "best place" for you. My number said it was Boston Philadelphia. Anyway here the results from looking at all the different states.

It looks like the best states to work in is North Dakota and South Dakota.
