Dressing in booty shorts doesn't mean you are an adult!

I have been noticing a sad trend in young actress in hollywood in the last few years. They seem to think that when they are 18 they are adults and that means you have to be hyper sexual. I am not sure why they think that dressing in booty shorts and dancing by a poll (Miley Cyrus) makes them more of an adult.

I mean she used to look that this.

and a few short years later she turned into this.
I am not sure why she thinks that because she is now an adult she can make performances like that. I mean look at those young girls that are watching her. I doubt all of them want to be like her, but girls her age are very impressionable and they want to be like their favorite celebrity.

I think that we need to teach our young girls that it is more important for people to look up to you because of your intelligence and you character instead of how you look in booty shorts.

Stars like Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian are showing our young girls that it is more important to look good and be wanted by men then to be smart and actually want to contribute something of worth to the world.

I am not even sure why Kim Kardashian is famous in the first place. She only got her own reality show because a sex tape of hers got released or something that is so ridiculous. We should have more strong Woman in Hollywood and in reality shows, so woman in the world know that it is important to be healthy but it is also important to be wanted by the world for what you can contribute because looks can only take you so far.

the economy and graduation.

Being in my second to last semester in college i am thinking a lot about next semester and also the mystery of what happens after I graduate. Will I get a job? Will I get a internship? In my media planning class we went to the library and found this place called bestplaces.net, which tells you about different states and different cities within those states. It tells you about the economy, weather, community and many other things. They even have a quiz you can take and it will tell you the "best place" for you. My number said it was Boston Philadelphia. Anyway here the results from looking at all the different states.
It looks like the best states to work in is North Dakota and South Dakota.

A hairstyle that I don't understand.

I was avoiding my homework today when I came a crossed a new song by Cher Lloyd called "with UR love".  When I was watching the video I noticed a hairstyle that I had seen before.
Kendall Young

Cher Lloyd

The place I had seen it before was in one of my favorite shows "The Sing Off" on NBC. I was watching the latest episode on I-tunes when I noticed one of the singers in the group "Delilah" Kendall Young was wearing the same hairstyle.

I am wondering if this is going to become a trend. I am not one with a huge fashion sense and I don't really get most of the trends that I read about on yahoo but I do have my opinions, and I wonder where this idea came from? I don't think it looks super bad but I wonder why any girl would want to shave half of your head. I wonder if they came up with this idea themselves or if their hairdressers wanted to try something new.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a weird hairstyle?

You are more than your looks!

Okay the first post on a new blog. So exciting!
I decided to talk about today woman in our society. There is some woman out there that all they think they have to offer is their looks.  There are professions out there that are based on just your looks. Isn’t that a little sad. Like Britney Spears people listen to her music but we all know that her whole career is based on how good her body looks. Case in point when she had her kids and she gained some weight no one really listened to her anymore and the first time she tried to make a come back it didn’t go well. She wasn’t even overweight but she looked kind of big in the bra and panties that she was wearing. She finally did make a comeback by basically making a dancer version of the music she made in the 90s. The only difference in her music is the sex in her music has increased. Shouldn’t we be teaching our children that character and your mind are more important then your looks?

I have been overweight most of my life so I haven’t had to opportunity to have tons of boyfriends like some of my roommates and friends have, but the most important lesson I have learned from this is that I am more than just my looks. I have a personality and I have opinions. I don’t spend all my time “keeping myself hot”
Even if I was size 0 I would want to be valued more for my mind and personality then how good I look in a mini skirt and a bra.

I know what some of you might be thinking out there. That’s just a opinion of a fat girl, and I have no “hotness to maintain” but you know what I say to that, all those girls won’t be hot forever. Britney spears will one day become older and she won’t look good in a bra and mini skirt anymore, than what? No matter how much you work out you won’t have your youthful body and face forever than you won’t have anything to fall back on.

I would rather be able to sustain an intelligible conversation then have a ton of guy check me out wherever I go. Because most woman want a fulfilling relationship and relationships just based on physical attraction usually end horribly and the woman usually feels worse then before. Just something to

Think about it
Ponder it
Get back to me.
